Music Collection ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use the Music Collection mobile app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
01 Information we collect
Personal information
When you create an account and use Music Collection, we may collect:
- Account information: the email address used for authentication.
- Disc collection data: artist names, album titles, release years, genres, ratings, notes, tracklists and formats (CD, vinyl, cassette and so on).
- Wishlist data: discs you want to acquire in the future.
- Images: album cover photos you upload or capture.
- Purchase information: if you buy Music Collection Premium, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We store only your purchase status (premium or free) and entitlement information. We never have access to your payment card details.
Automatically collected information
- Device information: device type and operating system version.
- Crash reports: anonymous crash data to improve stability, via Firebase Crashlytics.
02 How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality.
- Store and sync your disc collection across devices.
- Enable searching, filtering and organizing your collection.
- Improve and optimize the App experience.
- Provide customer support.
03 Data storage and security
Firebase services
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase:
- Firebase Authentication: securely manages your account credentials.
- Cloud Firestore: stores your disc collection with encryption at rest.
- Firebase Storage: stores uploaded album cover images.
- Firebase App Check: protects our backend from abuse.
- Firebase Crashlytics: collects anonymous crash reports.
- Cloud Functions: verify purchases securely on the server side.
- Firebase Hosting: hosts this privacy policy page.
- Industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) in transit.
- Encryption at rest on Firebase servers.
- Strict access controls ensuring only you can access your data.
Local storage
The App also stores data locally on your device:
- Local database: a copy of your collection for offline access.
- Image cache: album covers cached locally for faster loading.
Data isolation
Each user's data is completely isolated. You can only access data associated with your own account. Our security rules ensure no user can access another user's information.
04 Data sharing
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With your consent: when you explicitly authorize sharing, for example exporting your collection.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order or a governmental authority.
- Service providers: with Google Firebase for data storage and authentication, subject to Google's privacy policies.
05 Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access: view all data stored about you and your collection within the App.
- Correction: update or correct your information at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account and all associated data.
- Export: export your collection data (Excel format, available in the App).
Account deletion
You can delete your account directly from the App:
- Open the Settings screen.
- Tap your account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm your decision in the warning dialog.
- Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted.
- Your Firebase Authentication account.
- All disc entries in your collection and wishlist.
- All uploaded album cover images from Firebase Storage.
- All preferences and settings.
- Premium entitlement records.
This action is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
Alternatively, contact us at support@music-collection.app if you need help with account deletion.
06 Children's privacy
Music Collection is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
07 Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase: authentication, database, file storage and crash reporting.
Google Privacy Policy · Firebase Privacy and Security - Google Play Billing: processes in-app purchases.
Google Play Terms of Service - Discogs API: optional feature to search and import disc information.
Discogs Privacy Policy - Resend: sends transactional emails (email verification and password reset).

08 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
09 International data transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Firebase servers are located globally. By using the App, you consent to these transfers.
